I keep as little as I can, I never sell it, and I use it only to run this site and reply to you.

What I keep, and why

When you message me (the contact form): your name, email, subject and message, so I can reply. Before sending, your email is checked with Hunter to make sure it's real.
When you join the newsletter: your email (and name, if you give it), until you unsubscribe with the link in every email.
Visits: daily totals (views, visitors, pages, where visitors came from, country, device and language). The country is looked up on this server; your IP address isn't stored with them. I also use Umami, a privacy-friendly analytics service that doesn't use cookies.
A visitor id: a one-way code made from your IP address, browser and language with a secret key. It lets the site count your thumbs-ups and pokes, and your place on the game's leaderboard, without knowing who you are.
The game: when you rate it or tell it how the site makes you feel, that's saved with the name you typed (if any), your IP address, browser, language, platform and the page you came from, so I can spot spam and understand the answers.
In your browser: one cookie for your language (mtc_lang), and browser storage for your game progress and which posts you've seen. They stay on your device; clearing your site data resets them.

Who else sees it

Only the services that help run the site, and only what they need:

Resend sends my emails (replies and the newsletter).
Hunter checks that an email address is real.
Umami counts page views.
The site runs on my own server; its data and backups stay there and on my own devices.

I don't sell or rent your data, show ads, or use it for anything else.

How long

Messages stay until I delete them; newsletter emails until you unsubscribe; visit totals and game answers as long as the site runs. Backups keep the latest three copies.

Your choices

Ask to see, correct or delete what I have about you: write on the contact page or on Telegram, and I'll do it.
Unsubscribe from the newsletter any time with the link in each email.
Block cookies and storage in your browser; the site still works (the game just forgets you).

Also

The site isn't meant for children under 13, and I don't knowingly keep data about them.
Everything travels over HTTPS, and only I can open the site's database.
If this policy changes, the date at the top will say so.
